IT'S GONNA BE LOVE
I don't know how you feel
A mystery that I cannot see
Now that time is near
It's gonna be hard, but anyway
We have love on the way
I don't know what to say
Now that you are here
It's gonna be love, but anyway
I feel life once again
Now I know where and when
Now that you are here
It's gonna be love, anyway yeah!

SUNDAY SONG
I should get myself out of bed
dust off these cranks
And clear my head
Work is hard and I need a break, I surely deserve
All these games that let me escape
Up this morning I walk along
How I need a holiday
And the week has been so long
But the world can wait
Until I sing my Sunday Song
Weeks from now I would like to be
Chasing white marlin across the sea
Let the sun pour down on my face
With dreams so strong
They will replace my Sunday Song

PARALLAX
Time has come to change it
Got to rearrange it
Got to know just how you feel
Time is almost over
Situation's colder
Got to know just how you think
In a moment you will see
Just what you want to be
Now the feeling's right you're here
And I'll always want to be near you
Time is almost over
Situation's colder
Got to know just what you want
-----------------------------------------------------------
VOICES
Hear the call I know I've been waiting for
How I've always wanted to give you more
Distant voices want from me
All that I have to give
Well I find that I've run out of choices
But I still hear the call of the voices
And they're pulling me deeper inside them
Calling and calling again
Time to start and take the right direction
Time is clearly true
Search your thoughts, direct your course toward the sun
I am truly one
Waiting for the moment when I will see
Days gone by are only a memory
Distant voices take from me
All that I have to give yeah!

STILLED BY WHIRLWIND TONGUES
Where is the poet?
Where is the singer?
Where is the painter?
All with maiden's fair
Who stole the richness?
Who took contentment?
What brought the famine?
All with laden care
All these people have been stilled by whirlwind tongues
A certain sector has made clowns of everyone
Of good women who are left I know but some
Propaganda's flailing tune has been sung
Where is the thinker?
Where is the bourgeois?
Where is the maiden?
All the singer's fair
Who dressed the ladies?
Who switched the gender?
What makes the kingdom
Fall to destined heirs?
All these people have been stilled by whirlwind tongues
Politicians twirling on each other's thumbs
Keeping all the sexes drugged and neatly plumbed
Self-indulgent's flailing tune has been sung
--------------------------------------------------------------
GUESS WHAT I AM
Please be kind enough to stop what you're doing and sing a few lines
It's not all that rough to smile a bit at the rhyme
Watch to see what I become
(a box turned round)
A worldly spec in this ole town
An upside-down frown
Guess what I am, what I want
Can you tell me?
Guess what I am , what I see
Can you show me?
It's not as if I plead but won't you
Guess what I am, what I mean
And what I bring to you
All clocks have been stopped
The mainspring is waiting on word from repair
All ports have been blocked
Everyone's combing their hair
Watch to see what you become
(a box turned round)
A worldly spec in this ole town
An upside-down frown
Guess what I am, what I see
Can you show me?
Guess what I am, what I need
Can you tell me?
It's not as if I plead but won't you
Guess what I am, what I mean
And what I bring to you
-----------------------------------------------------
LADY OF LOVE
Lady of love when I talk to you
All I can get is your plaintive view
I don't know what you mean
Where you're going or what you've seen
Woman of Wonders you're on my mind
All that I wish is that you be kind
Take your time, but hurry and let it show
I'll take you and no one will ever know
Ah La
Lady of Love you can be so cruel
I'll be your lover, won't be your fool
You don't know what I mean
Where I've been or what I've seen
Lounge away, live in a holiday

MY OPINION OF THIS ALBUM
Well having finally heard it, is it "Passage"? or something else? personally I think it's something else, more an extension on the direction that the band went with Passage. It's a little rockier, Steve Hill does some real stand out keyboards, for those that weren't appreciative of the change Bloodrock went through with the inclusion of the Ham brothers, do you self a BIG favour and get this album. Not only does it show how the band progressed it also showed how well they could writer and perform away from the DOA pigeon-hole that the band had found themselves in.
Out of 5 stars this one gets *** |
